Sherwoods were established in 1928 and have served the motoring needs throughout the region and beyond ever since. Our company has been built on the solid foundations of family values and customer care growing into the largest privately owned Vauxhall and Chevrolet retailer in the North of England. Under the guidance of Alasdair MacConachie OBE, Managing Director, Sherwoods now employs over 150 people and has an annual turnover in excess of fortyfive million pounds. We work to the highest franchise standards to ensure our customers receive outstanding customer service and support from our key partners at General Motors. At Sherwoods we value our position in the community and take our social responsibilities very seriously.

Our Managing Director, Alasdair MacConachie, received an OBE for his services to the community in Darlington. At Sherwoods, we are a company proud of the success that we have built, based upon the professionalism and high standards achieved by our people. The Chevrolet Line - Darlington & Stockton

The addition of the Chevrolet franchise at our Darlington dealership was an exciting development for the Company. The Chevrolet model range has been totally redeveloped to offer great choice and great value for money and so perfectly compliments our company philosophy. With the addition of Chevrolet, Sherwoods can now offer New and Used vehicles to a wider range of customers with different motoring needs without sacrificing quality. Sherwoods and Chevrolet are growing together without compromising our company core values of service and professionalism. Our reputation and standing in the community has been hard earned and it can only be enhanced with our exposure to the wide range of customers introduced by the Chevrolet brand.

More recently we have extended our Chevrolet Franchise to cover our Stockton dealership, with the introduction of a brand new showroom, opened by Bill Parfitt, Chief Executive of General Motors UK in November 2008.
