/ Service / ecoFLEX efficiency service

The new Vauxhall ecoFLEx fuel efficiency service could help the environment, but just as importantly it could save you money.
It is a proven fact that adjusting certain elements of your car, for example the pressure of your tyres can help your engine run more efficiently. This is turn uses less fuel and reduces emissions released into the atmosphere. Meanwhile, you spend less filling your car.
All the elements of this service are proven ways of helping to improve fuel efficiency.
Helpful tips to improve efficiency
There are many easy ways to help improve fuel efficiency and reduce your carbon emissions.
Pump up your tyres
Inflating your tyres to the recommended pressure level cuts down on the resistance your tyres endure while moving, meaning your engine doesn't have to work as hard.
Lighter loads
Keeping lots of things in your boot creates extra weight that your vehicle has to carry around. Take out any un-needed items from your car to cut down on both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Drive at the right speed
Speed limits are there for a reason. Not only will driving at the speed limit increase your safety, it will also reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. At 70 mph you use 9% more fuel than at 60 mph, and up to 15% more than at 50 mph.
Less stopping and starting
Every time you stop then start again in a traffic queue, the engine uses more fuel and therefore produces more CO2, Keep an eye on the traffic ahead and slow down early by gently lifting your foot off the accelerator while keeping the car in gear.
Revving your engine wastes fuel and increases emissions
Revving up liked a Formula 1 driver wastes fuel and emits more CO2. Try changing up a gear at a lower rpm. For petrol cars, try 2,500rpm and 2,000rpm for diesel cars.
Avoid prolonged stationary periods
When idling, your car is wasting fuel and still emitting C02. So if you're going to be at a standstill for more than three minutes, switch off your engine.

Any recommendations made are not legally binding and the vehicle driver remains responsible for the roadworthiness of his/her vehicle, and for any related offence. If you choose not to have any remedial work done we may recommend that certain essential work be carried out before you drive your vehicle.
