Santa's Sleigh recieves a Sherwoods service
SANTA'S sleigh has been given its final safety checks ahead of its annual tour of Darlington.
The vehicle has been given a full service and MOT by a team of mechanics from Sherwoods, in Chestnut Street.
Bondgate Round Table's Santa will visit children from tomorrow. His sleigh is powered by a Vauxhall Vivaro, donated and maintained by the car dealership.
Alasdair MacConachie, managing director of Sherwoods, said: "We are extremely happy to support the Round Table and other charitable organisations in the town.
"The sleigh is a great project and one which we have supported for the last 15 years. We are proud to be involved with it."
Santa's route around the Darlington area this year will be:
Tomorrow - Middleton St George, from 4.30pm, starting in High Stell and finishing at Greenway.
Monday - Faverdale, starting in Alverton Drive and finishing in Faverdale Road.
Tuesday - New Coniscliffe area, starting in Woodvale Road and finishing in Cleveland Avenue.
Wednesday - Hurworth, starting in Avon Road, and finishing in Emerson Road.
Thursday - Branksome, starting in Stooperdale Avenue and ending in Egglestone View.
Sunday, December 16 - Hummerknott, stating from Salutation Road and ending in Tees Grange Avenue.
Monday, December 17 - Mowden, starting and finishing in Barnes Road.
Tuesday, December 18 - Brinkburn Road area, starting in Moorlands Road and finishing in Darrowby Drive.
Wednesday, December 19 - Whinfield, starting from Whinbush Way and ending in Cloverdale.
Thursday, December 20 - Elton Road area, starting in Flora Avenue and ending in Ashcroft Road.
Saturday, December 22 - High Row, between 9am and 3pm.
All tours start 5.45pm, unless stated otherwise.
